Arne Jacobsen for Fritz Hansen Ant Dining Set
An original set consisting of four Ant chairs and a round 3600 series table.
This is a very early, 1950s manufacture, evident due to the original steel plate on the underside of the chairs (see photos).
The round 3600 series table was the chosen piece to accompany the Ant chairs before Jacobsen added the Egg table to the range.
An interesting note about this chair. Jacobsen originally designed this model for Danish pharmaceutical company Novo Nordisk. Novo only went on to order 300 for their canteen; Jacobsen went on to bring the Ant chair into regular production.
Novo Nordisk, as you may know, went on to create the weight loss drug Ozempic decades later!
