HOLD Terms & Conditions
We offer two types of holds at grandfather's axe.
24-HOUR HOLDS
- A 24-hour hold is for furniture & lighting that is currently available in our Showroom or Warehouse
- As the name suggests, it’s for 24-hours only
- No deposit taken
- Intended for you to have some time to think about a piece (or to get to our Showroom to view, if you’re able)
- At our discretion (for eg. we don’t offer 24-hour holds during sale periods)
ARRIVING SOON HOLDS
- An Arriving Soon hold is for items yet to arrive, as seen on our Arriving Soon page
- This gets you 'first dibs' on items not yet available
- A 20% deposit holds the item for you (refundable if you decide it’s not for you, any time up to when you purchase or, if you're having upholstery done, whenever you engage us for that work)
- We contact you when the piece is ready - you’re welcome to inspect in person or we can send photos
- You have 7 days from when we contact you to finalise your purchase, incl. payment in full. (The exception is if your own choice of upholstery is being applied; in this case you pay 75% plus the cost of the upholstery material, the remaining 25% when job is completed.)
- If we're unable to finalise within 7 days, we reserve the right to refund you and move onto our waitlist
- A piece you like in Arriving Soon already on hold? No worries, we can add you to a waitlist.
- Arriving Soon dates on product listings are an estimate only and do not include any required work at this end before a piece is ready for you. Arrival dates do not form part of the product description. If timing is sensitive for you, please discuss with us.
- Please note: if you opt to pay for an item in full ahead of its arrival it is considered purchased, rather than on hold, and our standard return policy applies.
