Inter-War, 1940s Gate-Leg Extension Dining Table
Versatile mahogany extension dining table in three parts.
Made by London manufacturer Bowman Brothers, this wonderful table consists of a central drop-side table and two separate half-moon extensions. All sections are elevated by gate-leg mechanisms. We love the bevelled, tapered legs; a clear nod in the direction of the looming modern-design period to follow.
Of particular note are the excellent solid brass connectors, used to lock in both half-moon extensions.
A comfortable 6 seater, can seat 8 at a pinch.
Manufacturer: Bowman Brothers, Camden Town, London 1935-1945 (plate attached, see photos)
Dimensions: L2540 x 1065 x H690mm (at full extension)
Condition: Fully restored surface, solid base. Signs of previous professional repairs. A very honest table.
