Jorgen Rohweder Cabinet in Khaya Mahogany
Extraordinary early 20th century cabinet in an exquisite Khaya Mahogany veneer.
A very early piece in the Danish Modern era, the attention to grain was clearly the focus here for Rohweder. The flowing swirls of Khaya not only tell a story across the face of the cabinet but also carry on around the sides of the unit.
As was the case in the 1930s and '40s, the interior of this piece has been kept clean but functional, with adequate shelving and a single drawer.
Of note are the twin pull-out serving shelves finished in a black lacquer.
