1950s Danish Writing Desk in Teak & Oak
Elegant Danish writing desk with six lockable drawers and with an inbuilt rear bookcase.
This piece is constructed in an early Danish modern method using two types of timber to highlight its design features. The tapered legs and table edging are constructed in European oak whilst the main body is made with teak and teak veneer.
The locking system is most interesting with the lock on the upper drawer also able to lock the other lower drawers through the use of an inbuilt slide.
The quality of this piece certainly suggests it may have been made by one of the better cabinet makers of the time, perhaps Ole Wanscher.
